Alp Alper was born in Ankara in 1965. He finished his primary, secondary and high school education also in Ankara. He attented to the Physics Department of Gazi University for 2 years and then graduated from the School of Economics of Anatolian University. After his military service in Cyprus, he settled down in Istanbul in 1991. In 1992 Alper succeded to pased exams of TK and has been appointed to Passenger Traffic Service. Later on he became a permanent staff as Flight Dispatcher in Turkish Airlines. The 30-40 hour flights per month which Alp Alper attended during his missions, gave him the chance to see plenty of beauties in a detailed aerial view. He combined this chance with photography which had started as a hobby during his school years. So, he started taking photographs of Istanbul, being a wonder of nature and all those unique beauties he saw with a birds-eye-view. He attempted a new adventure of “|Taking Photos of Turkey From Air|”| with a volunteering team after the big earthquake of 1999.

His assignment to Athens as Station Manager of Turkish Airlines in the year of 2000 did not hinder his projects of taking photographs all around Turkey with his team. in order to introduce Turkey abroad,Alp Alper held two exhibitions in Athens and one in Poland with subject ”Istanbul”.

He worked for magazines like Gezi-Traveler, Gurme and Ulusoy Traveler in Turkey since 1996. Later he worked for the magazines Cosmos Travel and National Geographic of Greece in 1999, also for Turkish and Polish National Geographic in 2005. He moved to Istanbul in September 2006 at the end of his assignment in Greece. At present he carries on with his three photographic and one documentary projects with his team, in a constant search of sponsorhip and support for their creation.

Besides his passion for photography he has a great interest in history and archeology. His favourite sports are Scuba-Diving and Paragliding.
